James Cowper Kreston advised on the sale of Photon Energy to Project Better Energy, in a deal that includes the company’s project pipeline across commercial new builds, residential developments and commercial retrofit markets.
Photon Energy, based in the South East, develops, constructs and operates solar photovoltaic projects and energy storage systems.
The firm has built a presence in both UK and international markets, supplying clean energy solutions to businesses and community sites.
Project Better Energy, headquartered in Staffordshire, said the acquisition expands its national installation capacity and strengthens its position in consumer and commercial energy sectors.
Stuart Williams, partner and head of corporate finance at James Cowper Kreston, said: “We were pleased to advise Photon Energy on this transaction. Working closely with the Photon team throughout the process, we were able to support a smooth and successful sale to Project Better Energy (PBE).
“This transaction represents a strong strategic fit and will further enhance PBE’s solar capabilities while unlocking significant growth potential. It has been rewarding to contribute to a deal that positions both companies for continued success in the renewable energy sector.”
Jonathan Bates, commercial director of Reading-based Photon Energy, added: “We’re proud to see Photon Energy join PBE. The clean energy transition is a collective effort, and we’re confident this partnership will accelerate that mission while ensuring our customers and colleagues are in excellent hands.”
