Streets has announced that it has expanded into Cornwall with the integration of Metherell Gard, based in Bude.

The deal sees Metherell Gard join Streets, extending the group’s network of offices across the Southwest and beyond.

Established in the 1940s, Metherell Gard, supports clients across farming, tourism, hospitality, charities, and a wide range of other sectors. Following the deal, the firm will continue to operate from its existing offices in Bude.

The practice is the largest in the Bude area, with a 20-strong team and four directors; Nigel Cox, Pearl Mead, Greg Cook and Tom Vigg.

Cook, director at Metherell Gard, said: “Our practice has been in the Bude community for many years, and we’re really proud to have supported generations of local families and businesses.

“While continuity for our clients and staff remains at the heart of everything we do, this move ensures we can provide even greater support as the industry changes and becomes more complex. It also offers our staff wider opportunities for development as part of a larger, collaborative group.”

Paul Tutin, chairman and managing partner at Streets, added: “We are delighted to welcome Greg, Tom, Nigel, Pearl and the entire Metherell Gard team to Streets. Their long-established reputation in Cornwall, particularly their work with family and local businesses, perfectly complements our growing presence across the South West.

“The merger provides clients with continuity of service, as well as access to a broader range of advisory expertise across our group. Importantly, we also share a commitment to developing people, supporting communities and ensuring independence of ownership.”

The move follows a series of mergers across the Southwest region, including Stevens and Willey in Barnstaple, further reinforcing Streets’ strategy of being local in presence but national in capability.
