UHY International has added Buus Jensen Public Accountants, a Danish audit and advisory firm, to its global network, marking its expansion into Denmark.

The move sees it grow its international presence to 97 countries and more than 10,000 staff across 320 offices.

Based in Copenhagen, Buus Jensen is a full-service firm with 60 employees and eight partners, serving over 2,000 clients. It offers expertise across audit, tax, accounting, and advisory to SMEs and growing businesses.

Buus Jensen has particular sector experience in the manufacturing, technology, real estate and pharmaceuticals sectors.

As a new member of UHY, it will gain access to a global network of accountancy firms. Clients will enjoy expanded support beyond Denmark’s borders.

Following its integration into UHY International, Buus Jensen remains fully independent.

Michael Markussen, partner at Buus Jensen, said: “We were keen to join an international network that suited our culture and vision for growth. UHY was the right fit as it provides the global reach, depth of expertise and high client service quality around the world but we still retain our independence to grow as we need to.

“The deciding factor was the warm relationships we have built with the leadership at UHY. For us, this feels like joining a big family of peers and like-minded people.”

Rhys Madoc, CEO of UHY International, added: “As cross-border advisory work continues to grow for our member firms, adding an economy of Denmark’s importance is a significant step.

“Buus Jensen’s addition strengthens UHY’s ability to serve clients across the Nordic region and worldwide. They bring a high level of expertise within their core markets and share our culture of being very client focused.”
