S&W has announced the appointment of energy and infrastructure specialist Phil Gunter-Rees to lead its valuations and modelling team’s energy and infrastructure offering.

Gunter-Rees joins from Grant Thornton, where he was a partner in the valuations and modelling team. He previously held senior roles at EY, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and RBS, and worked in treasury at Thames Water during its ownership by Macquarie. He has 30 years of experience in financial and professional services.

Based in S&W’s London office, Gunter-Rees will work with the group’s advisory and tax teams to deliver tailored solutions to clients in the energy and infrastructure sector.

Gunter-Rees said: “This is an extremely exciting time for S&W. I’ve been struck by the dynamism of the firm’s leadership, the genuine positivity, and the potential for success across the business.

“The opportunity to focus on and expand the already thriving energy and infrastructure services offering is immense, and I am thrilled to be leading the team tasked with delivering on this potential.”

Olivier Pecon, head of valuations and modelling at S&W, added: “We’re delighted Phil has joined – it is a testament to our continued investment in our financial modelling team and our accrued interest in the energy and infrastructure sector.

“I’ve known Phil for over a decade and his extensive experience and market knowledge, combined with a track record of delivering strategic insights, will be invaluable to our clients and the firm as we continue to grow at pace.”
