The external audit team of Wbg is recruiting 10 graduates to its growing team this summer, doubling the annual intake of five graduates it has recruited over the last three years.

The Scottish firm’s external audit department will hit 40 staff members over the coming months, up from a team of 28 in 2022, following “significant” growth at the group.

Wbg said the recruitment has been made possible by the fact that its external audit fee income has grown by some 45% over the last three years and is forecast to reach £2.85m by March 2026.

It added that many public and third sector organisations, as well as private companies, use the firm for their external auditing requirements. It uses external auditing to add value to organisations’ financial management and operating procedures by going beyond the statutory compliance they are required to make.

Scott Gillon, external audit partner at Wbg, said: “This summer we are doubling our graduate intake from five to 10 as we seek to grow our own talent and deliver on the opportunity to develop our external audit services in the market over the next few years.”
