Forvis Mazars has launched the Forvis Mazars Foundation UK, an independent registered charity dedicated to improving social mobility across the UK.
The foundation exists to support under-resourced young people, helping them achieve their potential and build a positive future.
It will support charities across the UK that work with young people aged up to 25, funded by an annual donation from the partnership of Forvis Mazars in the UK.
Forvis Mazars will also support the charities through providing pro-bono services and skills-based volunteering to add value to the funding provided by the foundation.
To drive immediate impact, the foundation is providing £400,000 of funding to six partners; EveryYouth, Future First, Get Further, Leadership Through Sport and Business, Learning with Parents and My Time Young Carers.
The foundation will focus on three key changes to improve social mobility including reducing the attainment gap by supporting children, parents and carers.
It is also aiming to prepare young people for life by providing equal access to opportunities that build essential life skills and widen access to education and employment by helping young adults gain the networks, relationships, and cultural knowledge needed to succeed in education and the job market.
James Gilbey, Forvis Mazars CEO in the UK, said: “Forvis Mazars has always been committed to making a difference, building on a legacy of forty years of charitable giving through the Mazars Charitable Trust. The launch of this new foundation is a significant step in furthering our impact. Every young person deserves the chance to reach their full potential, and through the Foundation, we aim to provide the support to make that happen.”
