Forvis Mazars has received validation for its science-based targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and reaffirmed its commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2045.
In the short term, the firm will reduce 64% of its direct (scope 1 and 2) emissions and 34% of its indirect (scope 3) emissions by 2030.
In the long-term it will reduce 95% of its direct emissions by 2038 and 90% of its indirect emissions by 2045.
Alongside this, the firm is working to reduce emissions at every level of the firm, from sourcing renewable energy to diverting waste from landfill across all its UK offices.
It is also enhancing its travel policy with a stronger focus on sustainability; reducing non-essential business travel and promoting low-carbon transport modes.
Furthermore, Forvis Mazars is introducing new ways to incentivise cleaner modes of travel for business and commuting trips.
Lastly, it is strengthening its supplier engagement plan to align with the net zero pathway and working with clients on their sustainability journeys, from measurement to climate risk modelling.
