PKF Smith Cooper has appointed Joe Anderson as new assistant manager in the East Midlands team as the firm focuses on strengthening its presence within the region.

Anderson has 10 years’ experience in working at a top-10 accountancy firm and supporting owner-managed businesses. He has helped business owners in a range of industries, developing strong experience in the financial services and healthcare industries, in particular.

In his new role at PKF Smith Cooper, he will work closely with clients to understand their M&A needs and formulate plans to execute successful transactions.

PKF Smith Cooper has been pushing forward with team expansion plans throughout 2024, with Anderson being the fifth new addition to the corporate finance division this year. In April, the firm welcomed a new corporate finance partner, Claire Spencer, to lead the East Midlands team and support head of corporate finance Darren Hodson in building PKF’s presence in the Midlands.

Regarding his appointment, Anderson said: “I am pleased to be taking the next step in my career and joining the team at PKF Smith Cooper. The firm has a strong presence in the Midlands market, as well as international capabilities, which is great for client engagements. I am looking forward to joining the team and helping clients achieve their goals, whether they have exit or growth plans.”

Spencer said: “Joe joining the team marks further progress in our work this year to strengthen our corporate finance team at our Nottingham and Derby offices. His experience will be invaluable as we continue to expand our presence within the East Midlands and beyond.”

Darren Hodson, head of PKF Corporate Finance in the Midlands, added: “We are delighted to welcome Joe to PKF Smith Cooper Corporate Finance and look forward to the positive impact he will undoubtedly make as he finds his feet at the company. I have been working closely with Claire this year to grow our team in the East Midlands with the aim of building on the firm’s strong reputation across the region.”
