PKF Smith Cooper has expanded its tax team with the appointment of James Barry as its new personal tax manager joining its Derby office, following the firm-wide rebrand aligning the firm with the PKF Global network.
Chartered tax advisor Barry joins the firm with over seven years’ experience in personal tax at a top 10 UK firm and he has also spent two years at one of the top R&D consultancy firms in the UK.
With experience in dealing with high value capital disposals and remuneration planning, Barry is “highly knowledgeable” on income tax and capital gains tax issues, including unincorporated businesses, specifically partnerships, sole trades and rental properties.
PKF Smith Cooper recently rebranded to align its visual brand more closely to PKF Global, an international accounting network of more than 200 member firms, which it joined back in 2021.
The firm continues to build its team firm-wide, through recruitment and internal progression, with 12 new hires in the tax department alone this year.
