Leading accountancy and business advisory firm Hazlewoods has opened a new Welsh office in Cardiff to meet growing demand for its services in the South Wales market.

One of the largest independent accountants and business advisers in the South West, Hazlewoods has over 550 employees principally based in Cheltenham, along with a growing Bristol office.

The firm’s new city centre office is based in Capital Tower and will be staffed by a mix of existing team members and new employees, with Hazlewoods actively recruiting across South Wales with positions ranging from entry-level to senior management.

Tax partner, Nick Haines, said: “We are delighted to open a new Hazlewoods office in the Welsh capital as part of our strategic growth plans and in response to demand from Welsh-based clients.

“There are many ambitious and high growth businesses in Wales, and we are excited by the opportunity to support these businesses as they grow. There is also a highly talented pool of people and we’re confident that we will be able to recruit new, qualified staff with an excellent understanding of the Welsh market.”

Bruce Black, corporate tax director, added: “As a longstanding Hazlewoods Director, and a Cardiff resident, I am delighted to have the opportunity to be part of the new office in my home city. We have already had new employees join us, and I am looking forward to helping build the Hazlewoods business, working with new and existing clients.”

Nina Turner, Hazlewoods’ associate tax director, said: “Living in Bridgend, I know first-hand how many thriving businesses there are in south Wales. I am really passionate about the Welsh economy and supporting Welsh businesses so this is an exciting opportunity both for Hazlewoods as a business, and me personally.”
