Reid joins the firm’s Blythswood Square office after spending four years as a director at Mazars, where he led the Scottish SME team.
With more than 20 years of experience working in the accounting profession, Reid has advised an extensive range of businesses, from SMEs to sizable, limited companies, including international groups.
He has also worked in industry, holding positions in both the commodities and hedge fund markets as a financial controller.
In his new role, Reid will primarily work with family businesses and non-audit privately owned businesses, advising on all areas of their accounting advisory and compliance needs.
He will lead and grow the firm’s accounting and business services offering in central Scotland, whilst raising the profile of Armstrong Watson in the wider Scottish market.
Reid said: “Armstrong Watson has a fantastic reputation in the North of England and Scotland, and I am thoroughly delighted to be appointed as Partner. I’m excited to be working with a wide range of clients, supporting and advising them through the challenging economic climate businesses are facing at present, and beyond.”
Richard Andrew, head of accounting and business services, added: “We are delighted to welcome Craig to the business. His vast experience, particularly with owner-managed and family businesses in Scotland, will help us to continue to deliver for our clients and will contribute further to our growth in the Scottish market.”
