Audit, tax, advisory and risk firm Crowe has bolstered its Forensics team with the appointment of a new partner, Alex Houston.
Houston joins Crowe with over 10 years of experience as a forensic accountant. His particular expertise lies in expert witness matters in the context of litigation and commercial and international arbitration. He has worked for a range of international clients, from individuals to large and listed companies.
The firm said Houston’s specific area of focus will be in the disputes market, acting as an expert advisor, witness or determinator. Alongside Crowe’s growing Forensics Services team, he will work on matters such as minority shareholder disputes, breach of contract disputes, loss of profits, contentious valuations, and post-transaction disputes.
Houston will also enhance Crowe’s already established Expert Witness services alongside head of Forensic Services Martin Chapman, with a particular focus on the London market.
Houston said: “I am very much looking forward to joining the team and expanding Crowe’s forensic capabilities in London, building on the work already performed by Martin Chapman, Tim Robinson, and the wider team. Crowe’s culture, expertise and international brand make it a great fit to continue to provide our high-quality services to the disputes market.”
Chapman added: “I offer Alex a warm welcome to the partnership. Having known him for some years, I can assuredly say that he will be a fantastic addition to Crowe and the Forensic Services team both in technical expertise and personality.
“This is an exciting time for Crowe’s Forensic Services team, with Tim Robinson’s recent promotion to partner earlier this month demonstrating the team’s significant growth. I look forward to working alongside Alex, Tim and the wider team to deliver on our longer term strategy and continuing to expand, ensuring we can meet the ever increasing demand for forensic services.”
Nigel Bostock, chief executive of Crowe UK, concluded: “In a time of increased regulation and challenging markets, having a well-equipped team of expert advisors has never been more important. Alex Houston and Tim Robinson are both incredible assets to Crowe and testaments to the hard work of Martin and the Forensic Services team. I am thrilled to welcome them both to the partnership this month.”
