North West accountancy and business advisory firm Cowgills has promoted Brad Seekings, who joined the firm in 2021, to director as the firm continues its growth trajectory following a recent surge in M&A activity.

The deal advisory team is also celebrating a further double promotion, as Richard Hunter is made associate director and Tom Roberts is promoted to senior executive.

The promotions follow a “very successful” year-end for the team, which saw them advise on five transactions in the last four months, with another two deals due to complete this year, solidifying the firm’s reputation as one of the most active advisors in the North West.

Cowgills’ most recent deals included the leveraged buyout of leading telematics specialist Scorpion, a merger between Beth Tweddle Gymnastics and Gymfinity Kids, and US-based strategic acquirer Arclin Inc.’s acquisition of Warrington-based Trade Fabrication Systems Ltd, a leading producer of wood-based panel products.

Today Cowgills has over 200 employees and 23 partners.

Seekings said: “I’m proud to have been promoted into the leadership team following an interesting year for the market. We’re ending the year on a high with the pipeline looking strong and I’m looking forward to progressing further and watching the team go from strength to strength.”

Ian Johnson, partner and head of deal advisory, added: “Brad has been an outstanding member of our team, ensuring our clients receive the best possible service during their most important business milestones. 2023 has been a slower year within the M&A market, but we’ve seen a great uplift in the second half and Brad has played a crucial part in our recent success.

“We are actively growing the deal advisory team in Manchester and Brad will be instrumental in assisting us to attract the brightest talent across the city.”
