Accountancy firm Cowgills has won its first national award for its tax services at the 2023 Tolley Taxation Awards in London.
The Cowgills tax team was presented with the award for ‘Best Tax Practice in a Regional Firm’, beating competition from firms across the UK.
Led by partner Lisa Wilson, the team has significantly grown over the last 12 months from 14 staff members to 24, including a number of senior level hires and promotions. In the last six months alone, the team has welcomed 55 new clients to the business across its offices in Bolton, Manchester and Liverpool.
Notable client successes in the last year include assisting the shareholders of Total Swimming during the sale of part of their business to JD Sports and assisting the shareholders of Beech Holdings on a £40m property acquisition.
Regarding the award, Wilson said: “It’s fantastic to be recognised by Tolley’s. For a regional firm to win a national award is a real testament to the effort that the entire team has put in over the last couple of years.
“Our ethos has always been to deliver the best service that we can for our clients, and they continue to come back to us as they go through their business lifecycle and long may that continue.”
