BHP Accountants has announced the appointment of its audit director Terri Pierpoint to the role of partner after 17 years with the firm.
It is reported that Pierpoint joined BHP in 2005 as a trainee, completing her AAT qualification in 2007 and subsequently qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2010. In 2018, she was promoted to director after achieving ‘responsible individual’ status from the ICAEW.
In her new role as partner, Pierpoint will be responsible for signing off on the firm’s audits.
According to the firm’s Sheffield office, her experience spans several sectors including manufacturing, professional practices and property.
Pierpoint said: “I’m delighted to receive this promotion. BHP is a fantastic place to work, full of great people and with a great client base. There’s such an interesting range of work, no week is ever the same and I’m looking forward to further developing my relationships with audit clients.
“It’s an exciting time for the audit team as this year we have taken on more trainees than ever before, which shows our drive to continue to grow the firm and improve our service. BHP is a great training firm and has an excellent support network in place.”
She added: “I’m really looking forward to getting more involved in this area of the firm and to bringing through the next generation in the same way that my colleagues here did for me.”
Lisa Leighton, joint managing partner at BHP, said: “I’m thrilled to see Terri receive this promotion – a well-deserved reward for her years of hard work in our audit team.
“Her experience in the sector is invaluable and she is a fantastic role model for the new trainees who have recently joined us. I’m excited to see what more she can bring to BHP in her new role as partner.”
