Cottons Accountants acquires Roberts & Co.

Paul Syiem-Clark, senior accountant, will continue to work with Cottons and he will be ‘instrumental’ in the next few months of transition

Cottons Accountants has announced its acquisition of West London based accountancy firm, Roberts and Co., as part of the firm’s plans to strengthen its presence in the London area.

The announcement comes as Roberts and Co’s partners, David and Phillip Roberts, transition towards retirement, having started in partnership in 1976.

Paul Syiem-Clark, senior accountant, will continue to work with Cottons and he will be “instrumental” in the next few months of transition. Syiem-Clark is a qualified accountant providing financial support to a select number of clients.

Roberts and Co is an accountancy practice based in Hertfordshire, with over 75 years combined experience, and the firm has traded in various locations in West London.

The firm works with SME businesses and private clients primarily in London and Home Counties and surrounding areas, with a focus on artists, art galleries and service industry businesses within the portfolio.

Phillip Roberts, Roberts and Co partner, said: “Excited to be merging with a progressive and forward looking firm, we feel that our client base is in good hands.”

Ollie Warne, Cottons London partner, added: “The merging of Roberts and Co with ourselves continues our plans of expanding our presence in London. Their West London location gives us the chance to grow a client base in a different area of London.

“I am relishing the opportunity to modernise a traditional client base and provide added value through our extended service offering.”
