Evelyn Partners strengthens tax team with new partner

Balcombe joins Evelyn Partners from EY where he worked for more than 18 years

Evelyn Partners has strengthened its business tax team with the appointment of Jonathan Balcombe as a partner, focusing on tax advice for private equity-backed companies and their stakeholders.

Balcombe joins Evelyn Partners from EY where he worked for more than 18 years and was most recently a partner providing advice and support to private equity-backed and fast-growth companies.

Prior to his advisory role in EY’s business tax services team in London, he spent ten years working in M&A carrying out due diligence, tax structuring, tax modelling, and tax review of legal documentation.

Sian Steele, head of tax at Evelyn Partners, said: “I am delighted to welcome Jonathan to Evelyn Partners. We invested heavily in expanding our professional services team in 2022 and it is great to be able to start the new year by announcing this important senior appointment.

“Jonathan has extensive experience working with fast-growth companies which I am confident will prove valuable to clients as we continue to grow our business tax practice.”

Balcombe added: “I love working with ambitious, fast-growth companies and their management teams, and so it is particularly exciting to be joining Evelyn Partners – the dynamism and potential of this firm is inspiring. I’m especially looking forward to working closely with our rapidly expanding transactions business in order to provide top quality support to PE-backed companies at every point of their life-cycle.”
