Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has further strengthened its financial services team with the appointment of a new partner.

It has appointed Rahoel Patel to the firm’s transaction services (TS) team, with a focus on the financial services sector. He has over 15 years’ experience of advising both corporates and private equity houses on transactions across the UK, Europe and US.

His role at BDO will see Patel work alongside a range of financial services businesses, including wealth and asset managers, insurers and banks. He joins from EY and will be based in London.

Patel said: “Financial services firms have been faced with a number of unprecedented challenges over the last few years as a result of Brexit, the pandemic and other geopolitical factors. Despite this, the sector has remained resilient and deal activity has been strong. I’m looking forward to working with the growing team at BDO and advising more ambitious FS businesses to help them succeed.”

Paul Eagland, managing partner at BDO added: “Financial services firms are operating within increasingly complex regulatory environments and require high quality expertise in an adviser. We’ve continued to invest in our team, with Rahoel being the fifth dedicated financial services partner we’ve appointed in the last year.

“Rahoel brings a great deal of experience with him and I have no doubt he’ll be a valuable addition to our TS and FS teams.”

Since the start of this year BDO has appointed nine external individuals as partners across the firm.
