PwC has announced that Lucy Stapleton has been appointed as head of deals and a member of the firm’s management board.

With over 25 years’ experience at PwC within its transactions services team, Stapleton brings a wealth of experience to the role and is committed to delivering our part in the global recovery, working alongside government, investors, and corporates, and ultimately unlocking value for shareholders, stakeholders, and wider society.

Stapleton has appointed Jonathon Land as chief operating officer, Andrew McKechnie as markets and services leader, Claire Reid as forensics services business unit leader and Mike Gibbons as head of people for the deals line of service.

PwC said that the promotions across deals will “maintain the strong leadership of the business as there continues to be record levels of deal activity, globally”.

Stapleton said: “I am delighted to take on the role as Head of Deals at a critical time for many of our clients as they continue to adapt to the way the pandemic is shaping the economic outlook. We have seen record-breaking deal activity over the last 12 months, with demand for our expertise remaining strong particularly in areas such as transformation and ESG.

“Looking ahead, there is still pent up demand for deals and this will play a key role in the economic recovery with clients looking to us to solve their most pressing issues. I would also like to congratulate our newly promoted group of partners who will maintain the strong leadership of the deals business as we continue to invest in our people and support our clients to create, sustain and protect value.”
