Accountancy and business advisory group Azets has won the best private client tax practice award at the Tolley’s Taxation Awards.
The ceremony, held at the Hilton Park Lane hotel in London, recognises “outstanding achievement across the UK tax sector”. Azets received the accolade for its advisory work helping clients navigate regulatory changes to inheritance tax, business relief, and agricultural relief.
The firm’s 240-strong private client team was also recognised for its contribution to the wider industry, which included responding to HM Revenue and Customs consultations and holding committee roles with professional bodies. Alongside the team award, tax senior Beth Whybrow was shortlisted for rising star of the year.
Richard Major, head of private client at Azets, said: “This award is a testament to the strength, consistency and commitment of the people in our Private Client Tax team, who have been busier than ever over the last 12 months as we help clients navigate and understand a landscape that seems to be always changing.
“Over the past year, we’ve worked tirelessly to help business owners, farmers, entrepreneurs and taxpayers navigate an increasingly complex tax landscape and ensure they are as prepared and equipped as possible to deal with it.”
Praveen Gupta, UK head of tax at Azets, added: “Our Private Client team’s win and Beth’s shortlisting at these awards shows the breadth of tax talent at Azets.
“We’re very proud of the strength of our team, our commitment to putting people and clients first, and the depth of our specialist expertise – and it’s great to see this recognised by the judges at such a prestigious industry award.”
