EY Tax and Law has appointed 14 employees to partner, taking its overall number of partners in the UK to 195.

The firm said the new appointments reflect its increased investment in its tax and law practice across regions and sectors, to help “better support clients” at a time of “unprecedented change and challenge in the UK and worldwide”.

The new cohort of 14 partner promotions joins 19 external direct entry partner hires, with specialisms across a range of sectors including TMT, private equity, government and  infrastructure, energy, and consumer products and retail.

Nearly a quarter of the new partner appointments are based outside of London, which EY said reflects its “ongoing investment in its regional business”.

Jeff Soar, managing partner for EY Tax and Law, said: “I am thrilled to be welcoming this year’s new Partner appointments, especially our homegrown talent.

“These senior promotions are a fantastic achievement for our colleagues and signals the continued growth and investment in top talent within the Tax & Law business as we build sustainable long-term growth.”

He added: “By continually strengthening our senior team, we are enhancing our ability to provide comprehensive and trusted advice to help solve clients’ most complex problems. Our new promotes bring a depth of knowledge and valuable experience to our clients.”
