Deloitte expands team at Yorkshire practice

Nicola Wright joins the group as a public sector audit and assurance partner from fellow Big Four firm EY, while 13 promotions have also been announced

Deloitte has announced a new partner appointment and a number of promotions at its Yorkshire practice effective from the beginning of June.

Nicola Wright joins the group as a public sector audit and assurance partner from fellow Big Four firm EY.

Specialising in providing audit services to public bodies, she will lead Deloitte’s public sector audit team in the North.

Included in the group’s two partner and eleven director promotions are Karen Landells and Carol Murray, who will now act as tax and legal, and risk advisory partners respectively.

Elsewhere, Sarah Miller, Hinai Lad, Christopher Ward, Hayley Smith, Rebecca Poad, Sarah Long, Jennifer Hall, Dave Stevens, David Appleton, David Tiernan, and Jonathon Sharp compose the firm’s latest directors.

Stuart Cottee, practice senior partner for Yorkshire and the North East at the company, said that the promotions “recognise the hard work and dedication” of all involved.

He added: “Nineteen senior promotions across 2020 and 2021 is a great addition to the depth of our knowledge and expertise that we can use to support our clients as they seek to capitalise on the opportunities available post pandemic.

“During 2020 and 2021 we have recruited one new partner and promoted three others in the Leeds office – all of which are women and this is testament to the firm’s hard work to further increase the number of female partners in the firm.”

Cottee claimed that Deloitte is aiming for 40% of its partners to be women by 2030 as “part of our gender balance action plan”.
