KPMG has announced the appointment of Jordan Raiye to the role of corporate finance manager in the North East.

In the role, Raiye will be tasked with supporting businesses within the region in seeking growth capital.

He joins the position following a three-year period at KPMG’s national energy lead advisory practice, and will bolster the Newcastle team’s offering to companies aiming to increase their sustainability credentials.

Ian Beaumont, office senior partner for the North East at KPMG, said: “Jordan’s appointment signals our recognition of the role the region has to play in supporting the national and global effort to decarbonise.

“It is also evidence of our own commitment to investing in the talent that can help businesses in the sector as they pursue their strategic ambitions.”

Raiye has previously advised on a number of energy transactions, including Red Rock Power’s partial sale of its Scottish offshore wind development to ESB.

He has also managed the divestment of core UK renewable assets for a leading global investment fund.

Raiye said: “The North East is at the forefront of the move towards low carbon economic growth, and there’ll be a significant and positive knock-on effect for businesses in the area as the Government drives forward its commitment to net zero.

“Being from the North East I’m excited to get started in a role helping businesses here secure the investment they seek in order to thrive.”
