Mazars, the international tax, audit, and advisory firm, has announced the appointment of Mark Hubbard as partner in the group’s financial services tax team.

Based in London, Hubbard will be tasked with supporting the financial services audit practice, while seeking growth opportunities for the team’s advisory practice.

He will also be responsible for providing strategic expertise to the division by delivering on recent client wins, as well as working with the leadership team to develop the banking and capital markets (BCM) tax advisory proposition.

Catherin Hall, head of tax at Mazars, said: “I am delighted that Mark has joined the partnership, and we welcome him to the team here in London.

“We have ambitious plans for growth across the financial services strategic market, specifically within the financial services tax team.”

Prior to his current role, where he will lead the BCM sub-sector within the group’s tax department, Hubbard served as the global head of tax at Barclays.

Hall added: “Mark’s banking market experience will be invaluable as we develop our team, and look to capitalise on a rising number of opportunities in the financial services advisory market.”
