MHA Moore and Smalley, an independent provider of accounting, business advisory and wealth management services, has appointed Andrew Matthews to lead its Liverpool office.

Matthews has experience as a management accountant, and joins the company after three and a half years as finance director at Merseyside-based manufacturer Inciner8.

Previously an audit and corporate finance director at DSG Chartered Accountants, Matthews hopes to oversee growth for the firm across the region.

He said: “It’s a privilege to be given the opportunity to help the firm further grow its reach and client base across Merseyside, The Wirral, West Lancashire and North Wales.

“I’m particularly looking forward to renewing and developing relationships with the professional community and our clients.”

MHA Moore and Smalley sees the area as a “key driver of growth” and is relying on its new appointee to expand the firm’s influence in the region.

Danny Houghton, partner of MHA Moore and Smalley, said: “Merseyside and its surrounding regions have been a key driver of growth for the firm.

“Andrew’s time in both practice and industry have given him first-hand experience of advising a business and the challenges of growing one too. Coupled with his deep understanding and knowledge of the region, he was the perfect candidate to lead our Liverpool office.”
