PwC to replace Deloitte as Taylor Wimpey auditors

Housebuilding company Taylor Wimpey has revealed its intention to appoint PwC as its new auditors.

The appointment comes following a formal “competitive and comprehensive” tender process led by its Audit Committee.

PwC will replace fellow ‘Big Four” firm Deloitte who did not participate in the tender due to the rules regarding the mandatory rotation of auditors. Deloitte will remain as the group’s external auditor for the financial year ending 31 December 2020.

Taylor Wimpey said its board has also approved the appointment of PwC as external auditor of the company and its subsidiaries for the financial year ending 31 December 2021.

However, the appointment remains subject to approval by shareholders at the company’s 2021 Annual General Meeting.
