KPMG appoints new head of turnaround

Big Four’ accountancy firm KPMG has announced the appointment of Massimiliano Messina as its new head of turnaround.

Messina is an experienced restructuring advisor and CFO with more than two decades’ experience leading complex turnaround projects and finance functions at large corporates across Europe.

He has held senior positions at Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe having led the turnaround programme on behalf of General Motors as European CFO, as well as being appointed executive finance director of Delphi EMEA.

He also held the role of head of transformation at Swiss building materials manufacturer LafargeHolcim Group, and was also group COO of leading French retailer Vivarte Group where he co-led the financial and operational restructuring of the group. 

Messina joins KPMG from PwC where he led the firm’s UK CRO and turnaround practice, having also previously worked as a senior advisor for Alix Partners in Paris. 


In his new role which will be based in London, he will work as part of KPMG’s global restructuring team to grow the firm’s capability to deliver complex cross-border turnaround projects.
