Accountancy firm Moore Thompson’s two longest-serving members of staff have now retired.
Marian Boxall and Melvyn Price had a combined service of more than 90 years at the firm, which has offices in Peterborough, Wisbech, Market Deeping and Spalding.
Price was a partner at Moore Thompson for a number of years and director of computer consulting, where he was the “driving force” behind IT at the accountancy firm.
More recently he has worked in a consultancy role, where he has helped clients with a wide range of matters and continued to assist the firm with its IT systems.
Boxall joined the firm in 1969 as a receptionist and gradually progressed through the firm during its various mergers to become the practice’s IT manager.
She said she saw a “significant change” in technology during this time and helped alongside Price to create MT Computer Consulting Ltd, which provides software and training to Moore Thompson’s clients as an additional add on service.
Mark Hildred, managing partner at Moore Thompson, said: “Marian and Melvyn have played an invaluable role within the development of our practice and we are very sad to see them go.
“They have both worked very hard and given so much to the firm; we cannot thank them enough. We hope that they both enjoy their retirement and we look forward to hearing what they get up to.”
