BHP appoints Tim Clasper as chartered financial planner

BHP has appointed Tim Clasper to its team as a chartered financial planner and will be based at its Leeds office.

Clasper will work alongside BHP Chartered Accountants to ensure a coherent approach to financial planning for business owners and directors. He will also be responsible for looking after private clients advising on cash flow planning, inheritance tax and pensions.

Clasper will report to managing director of BHP Financial Planning, Joy Clegg.

Prior to joining BHP,  Clasper worked as a wealth management consultant for St. James Place Wealth and subsequently Walker Crips in York.

Commenting on his appointment, Clasper said he is “excited” to join BHP.

He said: “They have a modern approach to working with accountants and dealing with clients, with a focus on lifestyle financial planning.

“Working in Leeds – the financial centre of the UK outside of London – will allow me to support some really interesting and innovative businesses and shareholders in achieving their objectives.”

He added: “I believe the average age of a financial advisor is in their 50s so it’s nice to try and breathe some fresh air into the industry.”
