Bibby Financial Services has appointed Gemma Heath as business development manager to expand its funding support for small and medium-sized enterprises across the West Midlands.
Heath joins the commercial finance firm following a 16-year career at Lloyds Banking Group, where she held multiple sales positions. She most recently served as associate director of trading and working capital for intermediaries, managing broker relationships across the Midlands and East Midlands.
The invoice finance specialist holds an asset-based finance association qualification alongside a credit diploma and sales certification. In her new role, Heath will focus on increasing the company’s regional market share and deploying its current £1bn funding capacity through working capital solutions.
The appointment comes as regional funding initiatives seek to boost commercial infrastructure and corporate growth across Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull, and Wolverhampton.
UK head of broker and introducer at Bibby Financial Services David Webb said: “BFS is in growth mode and with more than £1bn of funding capacity, we have a fantastic opportunity to support SMEs and the intermediary community in 2026 and beyond. Attracting someone of Gemma’s calibre is testament to our sales strategy and ambition in the West Midlands and further afield.”
Heath said: “With the West Midlands Futures Fund seeking to supercharge projects across Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull and Wolverhampton, there’s an incredible opportunity for the region’s SMEs to grow and thrive. Many of these businesses need greater access to working capital and cashflow support to enable them to seize opportunities, so I’m looking forward to leveraging existing and developing new intermediary partnerships to make this happen.”
Heath added: “With our strong family heritage, financing legacy stretching back almost five decades, and a reputation for supporting businesses through the economic cycle, BFS is well-placed to help SMEs overcome challenges and take advantage of opportunities today.”
