PKF Smith Cooper has appointed a new manager and senior executive to its Midlands transaction and advisory services team.
James Roberts joins the firm as transaction and advisory services manager from Greene King. He previously worked in audit at PwC and transaction advisory at RSM, gaining experience across the professional services, technology, healthcare, and hospitality sectors.
Brent Kerrison has been appointed transaction and advisory services senior executive, joining from Avant Homes. Kerrison trained at Mazars, where he worked with social sector organisations, privately owned businesses, and private equity-backed companies.
The appointments follow a period of expansion for the team, which doubled in size over the past year and was shortlisted for an award at the recent Insider East Midlands Dealmakers Awards.
Roberts said: “I’m pleased to be joining PKF Smith Cooper in Birmingham at a time of strong growth within the Transaction and Advisory Services team. The firm’s expanding transactions capability and its reputation for delivering high quality financial due diligence and wider advisory support were key factors in my decision, and I’m looking forward to working with clients across a broad range of sectors.”
Kerrison added: “It’s great to be joining PKF Smith Cooper and become a part of the growing Transaction and Advisory Services team. I’m looking forward to bringing experience from both practice and industry to support clients on a wide range of transactions.”
David Nelson, senior partner and head of transaction and advisory services at PKF Smith Cooper, concluded: “We’re delighted to welcome James and Brent to the team as we continue to strengthen our Transaction and Advisory Services offering across the Midlands.
“Both bring valuable experience and fresh perspectives to the team, which will further enhance the support we provide to clients navigating complex transactions and strategic decisions. Their appointments reflect the continued momentum of our TAS team, and I’m confident they will both make a significant contribution as we build on our recent growth and success.”
