Accountancy firm Menzies has opened a 100-person office in Crawley and appointed Jan Charlesworth as audit partner to lead its expansion within the Gatwick Diamond region.
The new office, located at Origin One on Crawley High Street, replaces the firm’s former Leatherhead site and houses over 80 partners and staff.
The facility will provide audit, tax, and strategic advisory services to sectors including aerospace, medical engineering, and logistics.
This relocation follows the firm’s recent merger with Beever and Struthers, which increased Menzies’ total workforce to over 1,000 professionals with a combined fee income exceeding £100m.
Charlesworth joins the leadership team with over 20 years of experience from senior roles at mid-tier and top 10 accountancy firms.
In his role as audit partner and responsible individual, he will co-lead the regional team and oversee the development of the firm’s audit portfolio.
The firm has stated its intention to increase local headcount by 20% over the next five years through partnerships with regional universities.
According to Menzies, this investment is part of a wider national strategy that included the acquisition of ESG specialists Grain Sustainability in late 2025.
Caroline Milton, audit partner and head of the Gatwick office, said: “Our move to Crawley represents an important milestone for Menzies. The Gatwick Diamond is one of the UK’s regions, and this new office positions us closer to the businesses and communities we support. With connectivity, a local talent pool and room to grow, the office leaves us positioned to build on our momentum and continue delivering advice to businesses across the area.”
