Accountancy firm Pierce has appointed Aaron Pegg as forensic director to oversee its business valuation and financial dispute services across commercial, matrimonial, and criminal investigations.
Pegg, an ACA chartered accountant with a master’s degree from the University of Cambridge, joins the firm from Azets, where he served as director of forensic accounting and valuations.
His career includes tenures at boutique firm Dow Schofield Watts and BDO, where he completed a one-year secondment to the UK Serious Fraud Office in London.
In his new role, Pegg will manage commercial claims involving shareholder disputes, loss of profit, and professional negligence.
His remit also covers non-contentious business valuations for tax, succession planning, and corporate restructuring. The appointment is intended to meet rising demand for expert determination and forensic services within the regional market.
The expansion of the senior leadership team follows a period of growth for Pierce’s advisory arm.
According to the group, Pegg’s background in both top-tier and boutique firms is intended to “strengthen the firm’s capacity to handle complex financial irregularities and allegations of fraud or money laundering”.
Pegg said: “I am joining Pierce at a stage in the firm’s growth. Pierce has a culture for advisory work. I am looking forward to working with the team to further develop the forensic offering and to support clients through complex disputes, investigations and valuation matters.”
Jimmy King, CEO of Pierce, added: “Aaron’s appointment is an addition to our senior leadership team. His technical expertise and breadth of forensic experience complement our forensic capability. As demand for forensic and dispute-related services continues to grow, Aaron will play a key role in supporting clients.”
