AAT has partnered with the Civil Service Learning platform to provide practical finance training to civil servants across the UK.
The agreement will make a range of AAT short courses available through the civil service learning portal, known as the Government Campus, giving staff across all government departments access to basic finance and business training.
Courses available under the partnership include AAT Business Finance Basics and AAT Essentials, aimed at both finance specialists and non-finance staff who want to build or refresh core financial knowledge.
AAT said the initiative would support the government’s aim of improving financial capability, transparency and value for taxpayers’ money, particularly among civil servants responsible for managing and delivering publicly funded programmes.
The courses are designed for learners with varying levels of experience and use practical examples from both the public and private sectors, according to AAT.
The partnership forms part of AAT’s wider effort to improve financial literacy and business skills across the UK workforce.
It follows a recently announced collaboration with the Nuclear Institute to provide financial training for its members and AAT’s decision to become the first accountancy professional body to join the South Yorkshire Skills Bank, a scheme aimed at tackling regional skills shortages.
