Albert Goodman has added 21 trainees and two business placement students to its regional offices as part of the firm’s expanding trainee programme.

The 2025 cohort joins the South West-based accountancy firm’s scheme, launched in 2023, which offers fully funded accountancy training and practical experience for graduates, school leavers and career changers.

New roles are spread across departments in Taunton, Yeovil, Weston-super-Mare and Bristol, reflecting the firm’s aim to widen career opportunities across the region’s accounting sector.

Earlier this year, the firm promoted three directors to partner, including Tom Stone, of the farms and estates team, who first joined Albert Goodman as a school leaver through its trainee route in 2014.

Sarah Bowden, people director at Albert Goodman, said: “Welcoming our 2025 cohort of 21 trainees and two business placement students is another proud milestone for Albert Goodman. It underlines our ongoing commitment to investing in the next generation of talent in the accounting industry.

“Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re pleased to be providing school leavers, graduates and placement students with the opportunity to build long and rewarding careers here in the South West.”

The new cohort arrives during a period of sustained growth for the Taunton-headquartered firm, which reported an 11% rise in revenue for the 2025 financial year and a 25% increase in new client wins.

Albert Goodman also became principal partner of the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta this year, signing a three-year sponsorship deal ahead of the event’s 50th anniversary.

Bowden added: “Albert Goodman has been operating in communities throughout the South West for over 150 years, and welcoming new cohorts of trainees and placement students is always an exciting time as our presence across the region continues to grow. We look forward to supporting our new cohort to thrive as they embark on their journeys with us and to see many of them develop into future leaders of the firm.”
