Armstrong Watson has announced several senior appointments and promotions within its tax team as it expands its advisory services across the north of England and Scotland.
The accountancy and financial advisory firm has appointed Gary Rowson as partner in its private client tax team. Rowson, a former tax inspector with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), has more than 25 years’ experience in the profession, including at Baker Tilly and in specialist tax advisory firms. He has recently focused on advising clients in the music, entertainment and sports sectors.
His appointment follows the recruitment of Tania Dimitrovich as corporate tax partner in Manchester and Kirsty Wilson as tax director in Glasgow earlier this year.
The firm has also announced a series of internal promotions. Hayley Deeming has been promoted to tax partner in Newcastle, Becky Fraser becomes tax director in Leeds, and Hannah Laidlaw-Keggans has been promoted to senior manager in Dumfries. Laidlaw-Keggans trained with the firm.
Becky Bowness, head of tax, said: “The breadth and depth of experience that Gary, Tania and Kirsty bring further enhances the support we provide to our clients in key locations. I am also very proud to celebrate the thoroughly well-deserved promotions of Hayley, Becky and Hannah, which reflect our commitment to fostering talent within our firm.”
Deeming said: “It has been fantastic to see the tax team evolve and grow since I joined the firm. I am proud to be part of the leadership team to continue this into the future and to support our clients across the firm to achieve their goals.”
