FRC has announced that Sarah Rapson, executive director of supervision at the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), is stepping down from her role later this year.

Following her departure she will become chief executive of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

Rapson, who joined the FRC in 2021, also served as deputy chief executive ahead of the arrival of Richard Moriarty in the top job.

During her time at the regulator, she played a central role in developing its supervisory functions.

The FRC stated that it has begun the public recruitment process for her successor.

Moriarty said: “While I am sorry to see Sarah leave the FRC, this is an excellent appointment for both Sarah and the SRA. Sarah has been particularly key in developing our supervisory approach and capabilities. She will be a great asset to the SRA and I wish her all the best.”
