Hampshire accountancy firm, HWB, has announced the appointment of tax expert Steven Martin to the role of senior tax manager, bringing more than 17 years of professional experience.

Martin previously held senior roles at Dorset-based Ward Goodman and at BDO. His specialisms include tax advice for individuals, trusts, estates and partnerships.

At HWB, based in Chandler’s Ford near Southampton, Martin will focus on complex issues including capital gains tax, inheritance tax, business succession planning, estate accounts and probate.

Martin said: “HWB is well known for its tax, accountancy services and trusted advice to individuals and businesses. I look forward to contributing directly to its continued growth.”

Tracy Jenkins, managing director of HWB, added: “Steven is an expert tax manager with substantial knowledge and experience gained over 17 years in practice. His skills will complement those of our team and help strengthen our offering to individuals and business clients.”

Martin will work alongside HWB colleagues including director Gemma Hedges, senior tax manager Alan Rolfe, tax manager Joe Wilson, and tax compliance managers Martin Back and Susan Wooding.

He holds a first-class degree in law and taxation from Bournemouth University and is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
