PKF Francis Clark has appointed two senior managers to its corporate tax team.Corporation tax specialist Paul Rattew has joined from Milsted Langdon, while corporate and real estate tax specialist Nick Crandon joins from BDO, where he spent the past eight years.

Rattew brings “extensive” experience of helping owner-managed businesses and larger groups across a range of sectors with corporation tax issues, HMRC enquiries, capital allowances, R&D tax credits, restructuring and IR35 issues, and transfer pricing. He also spent five years working as an in-house tax expert for a large private healthcare group, after starting his tax career with Deloitte.

He said: “I’m looking forward to providing technical tax advice to teams across the firm when they need specialist expertise to solve problems for clients, as well as being involved in training colleagues.

“PKF Francis Clark’s tax department includes partners with national reputations who are at the forefront of our profession, so the chance to work with them was a big part of the attraction. It’s a vibrant, energetic team who know their stuff and want to develop and push themselves forward.”

Meanwhile Crandon, who will be based in Truro and Plymouth, supports complex corporate clients and owner-managed businesses with tax due diligence on transactions, as well as general tax advisory and compliance work.

He said: “I enjoy being able to support clients throughout their business journey – from inception to exit – as well as working with the wider PKF Francis Clark teams on technical tax issues. I’m looking forward to working with a wider variety of clients while continuing to use my real estate and property expertise.

“My wife is from Cornwall and we’ve always wanted to live in this beautiful part of the world while having challenging and rewarding careers. PKF Francis Clark provides the perfect opportunity to tick both boxes, and I’m excited by the corporate tax team’s ambitious growth plans.”

Corporate tax partner Jonathan Riley said: “Paul and Nick are fantastic additions to our already strong tax team at PKF Francis Clark and reinforce our position as the obvious choice for tax advisory and compliance services in the West of the UK.”
