Moore UK has announced that specialist hospitality firm WMT has merged with long-standing member Moore Kingston Smith.

The merger, which completed in May 2024, strengthens Moore Kingston Smith’s growing hospitality, leisure and travel group which provides a range of accounting and advisory services for businesses of all sizes, from start-ups to large private and public companies.

WMT is a leader in the hospitality sector, working with around 350 restaurants, pub groups, bars and hotels across the UK, particularly in and around London. The group is recognised for its advice and implementation of ethical tronc schemes, ensuring clients maximise the available reliefs, as well as motivating and incentivising its people in a “fair” way.

WMT also has a strong presence in and around St Albans, providing businesses, charities and individuals with audit, accountancy, tax and advisory services, mirroring Moore Kingston Smith’s offerings for the local market.

Mark Lance, CEO of Moore UK, said: “We’re delighted to welcome WMT, a well-respected firm, to the network under the Moore Kingston Smith banner. Member firms and clients of our UK network benefit from the additional depth and capability in the hospitality sector and beyond brought about by the two firms uniting.”

Matt Meadows, chair of Moore UK and managing partner of Moore Kingston Smith, added: “Combining the WMT and Moore Kingston Smith teams is a positive move which strengthens both our firm and the wider UK network. Bringing in their specialist sector knowledge deepens the pool of expertise from which our member firms connect and collaborate to help our clients reach their aspirations locally, nationally and internationally.”
