Rayner Essex, a leading accounting and advisory firm in St. Albans and London, has announced the promotion of Alex Walsh to the position of director, corporate finance and audit.

Walsh, who specialises in corporate finance and audit, joined Rayner Essex over two decades ago and has since played an instrumental role in the firm’s continued growth and success.

The firm said his “wealth of experience, dedication to client service, and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing financial landscape have set him apart as a highly valued member of the team”.

In his new role, he will take on an expanded leadership role in guiding the firm’s corporate finance and audit departments. His responsibilities will include managing client relationships, overseeing audit engagements, and providing strategic financial guidance and business strategies to clients, offering value added advice on a wide range of commercial and regulatory issues.

Walsh’s expertise in owner-managed businesses and SMEs across a huge range of sectors, compliance, and best practices has consistently contributed to the level of service that Rayner Essex provides to clients.

His in-depth knowledge of corporate finance and audit, combined with a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by businesses, will help clients navigate complex business challenges and achieve their objectives.

Darren Hill, partner at Rayner Essex, said: “We are delighted to announce Alex’s well-deserved promotion to director of corporate finance and audit. Alex’s high level of technical skills, commitment, and client-centric approach have made him an integral part of our team.

“He is involved in a number of our more complex and challenging assignments and always ensures that he provides our clients with practical and timely advice. We have no doubt that he will continue to excel in this new role of spearheading the firm’s Corporate Finance offering whilst continuing to contribute to the management of the audit department.”
