Kreston Global has named Meera Rajah, partner at James Cowper Kreston, as chair of its global indirect taxes group.
Rajah brings nearly 30 years of experience to the role, having begun her career at HM Customs and Excise before working at HM Revenue and Customs.
She joined James Cowper Kreston in 2012, where she leads the firm’s tax advisory team.
Her areas of expertise include VAT cost reduction, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border supply chains, partial exemption methods, and dispute resolution with HMRC.
She also advises on land and property transactions, film production, and charities.
In her new role, Rajah will lead efforts to expand Kreston Global’s indirect tax offering and enhance collaboration among its member firms.
Kreston Global’s three core global service line groups, tax, audit and advisory, are supported by various subgroups, including indirect tax, corporate finance, transfer pricing, R&D tax credits, and internal audit and risk.
Rajah said: “I’m delighted to take on the role of chair and will continue to focus on encouraging open collaboration across the network. The more we share what works, the stronger we become as a group.”
Liza Robbins, chief executive at Kreston Global, added: “Rajah brings both strategic vision and practical experience to the role, and I’m confident she will continue to raise the profile and impact of this important special interest group.”
