BKL has announced the appointment of Stephen Baker and Sam Inkersole as new tax directors.
Baker has joined Wilson Wright, part of BKL, from PwC. He has over 20 years’ experience advising employers on how to structure and manage their employment tax affairs.

He will be growing out a new, specialist area of employment taxes at BKL which presents an exciting opportunity for new and existing clients.

Baker’s expertise includes employment status, the off-payroll workers’ rules (IR35), PAYE and salary sacrifice.

Meanwhile, Inkersole, who has been promoted to the role of tax director, joined BKL in 2015 as an audit and accounts trainee. He has focused solely on tax consultancy since 2019, developing tax specialisms that include cryptocurrency, M&A activity and family wealth structuring.

While still a manager, he won Rising Star at the Tolley’s Taxation Awards and was selected for the Accountancy Age 35 Under 35.

Baker and Inkersole’s appointments are part of significant growth in BKL’s senior-level technical expertise, with three new tax partners having joined the business in the past month: Susie Mullin, Sehjal Gupta and Luigi Lungarella.

Baker said: “BKL and Wilson Wright’s tax specialists have an outstanding reputation and I’m delighted to be one of them. I’m excited to continue getting to know my new colleagues as we give our clients excellent, trusted advice when it matters.”

Inkersole added: “Throughout my career at BKL, the people have made this a great place to work and to thrive professionally. I’m happy to be starting my next chapter here, working with the team to continue to provide clients with great advice and a personal service.”
