Evelyn Partners expands debt advisory practice with three new hires

The new joiners follow the appointment of Fenton Burgin as partner in September 2024 to significantly expand the debt advisory team at Evelyn Partners

Evelyn Partners has made three new appointments in its professional services business, which will soon re-brand to S&W, to help drive the continued growth of its expanding debt advisory practice.

It has appointed Lachlan Dorrity as director, David Ramsey as assistant manager, and Katherina Zeal as assistant manager, with all three joining its London office.

Dorrity has over 10 years of experience in the debt advisory market and joins the firm from Clearwater where he spent nearly seven years as a director.

He previously worked in Grant Thornton’s debt advisory practice for more than four years, and prior to this, spent six years within restructuring advisory at KPMG where he gained his ACA qualification.

In his new role, Dorrity will be focused on a broad range of sponsor- backed mid-market transactions, offering clients’ strategic advice to navigate fund raising in complex financial markets.

Meanwhile, Ramsey, who joins as assistant manager, has spent nearly four years at UK advisory firm Blick Rothenburg within its FCA auditing team working with regulated venture capital and private equity firms.

He is ACA qualified and graduated from Durham University, and in his new role, he will act as an adviser to businesses of all sizes.

Lastly, Zeal joins as assistant manager having spent four years at KPMG within the banking and financial services audit team working on the audits of a number of the UK’s largest financial services companies.

Zeal is ACA qualified and graduated from Exeter university. In her new role, she will focus on advising a range of the team’s private and sponsor backed corporate clients.

The new joiners follow the appointment of Fenton Burgin as partner in September 2024 to significantly expand the debt advisory team at Evelyn Partners.

Dorrity said: “I’m delighted to join an entrepreneurial and growing team working with some of the UK’s most exciting high growth companies and mid-market sponsors. This is an exciting time for the professional services business, with strong growth plans and significant opportunity in the mid-market.”

Burgin added: “I’m excited to welcome Lachlan, David and Katherina who are the latest additions to our expanding debt advisory team, bringing with them a wealth of experience. Their joining ensures we can continue to fulfil the demand we are seeing from clients for independent, conflict free debt advice across a broad range of lenders and investors in the UK mid-market.

“We have strong growth plans for our debt advisory practice in 2025 to further accelerate and expand our market leading team focused on supporting ambitious businesses and securing the very best outcomes for our clients.”
