Gerald Edelman has advised on the sale of Whisky Me Limited (Whisky Me), the subscription-based whisky service, to Glenkeir Whiskies Ltd, owner of The Whisky Shop, the UK’s largest specialist whisky retailer.
Founded in 2017, Whisky Me has revolutionised whisky tasting by delivering premium single malt and world whiskies directly to subscribers in unique recyclable pouches. With its approach and curated selection, the business has cultivated a loyal subscriber base and gained recognition for bringing whisky to a new generation of enthusiasts.
The business gained recognition in 2021 when it appeared on the TV show “Dragon’s Den” where it secured investment from three people, Deborah Meaden, Tej Lalvani, and Peter Jones.
This acquisition marks a new chapter for Whisky Me, aligning it with The Whisky Shop’s expansive retail and ecommerce network and shared passion for showcasing “exceptional” whiskies.
Tom Simpson, manager in Gerald Edelman’s corporate finance team, said: “We are thrilled to have supported Whisky Me on this transaction. The deal highlights the value of innovative brands in the spirits sector and represents a great fit with The Whisky Shop.
“It was a pleasure working with the Whisky Me team to achieve such a positive outcome for all involved, and I look forward to seeing how the business will evolve under its new partnership with The Whisky Shop.”
