ICAEW has announced the appointment of Phil Parry as its new chief information officer (CIO).
Parry will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Institute’s technology and AI solutions. As a member of the leadership team reporting into chief executive, Alan Vallance, he will also assume responsibility for IT operations, digital and publishing and for delivery of the technology programme.
ICAE said Parry brings more than two decades of experience in developing and implementing technology strategies and steering digital transformation and technology innovation. He has worked for large, complex organisations across several sectors, including retail, hospitality, automotive and property management.
He joins ICAEW this week (W/C 28 Nov) following a six-year stint as CIO of McArthurGlen, a leading European designer outlet, where he led major technology transformations to deliver digital, data, business intelligence and AI solutions, and oversaw significant improvements to user experience for both customers and employees across 11 countries.
Parry said: “I’m delighted to have joined ICAEW, and to have the opportunity to drive change and help the Institute harness technology.
“Improving these capabilities is vital as we look to position ICAEW as a key player in a rapidly-evolving digital landscape, while delivering our strategic goals and ensuring the needs of members and key stakeholders are met.”
Alan Vallance, ICAEW chief executive, added: “Technology is critical to any business and a key to our ongoing strategy and business objectives. Phil’s experience in delivering complex technology strategies will be hugely valuable as we continue to strengthen our IT systems, boost our digital capabilities and harness evolving technologies. I very much look forward to working with him.”
