BDO has named Robert Noye-Allen as its new head of Public Sector, taking over the role from Greg Rubins who has retired after 12 years with the firm.Noye-Allen, a risk advisory services partner, has almost 30 years’ experience in the sector.

In his new role, he will be responsible for coordinating the growth of BDO’s public sector offering across audit, tax and a wide range of advisory services to central government organisations, local authorities and the NHS, nationally and regionally.

Since joining BDO in 2019 following the Moore Stephens merger, the firm said Noye-Allen has built a strong reputation working with organisations in the central government sector providing assurance services, and advising on regeneration projects.

Commenting on his appointment, Noye-Allen said: “I’m very excited to be taking over the role of head of Public Sector. The new UK government brings an interesting political landscape, with an ambitious agenda focussed on growth. Businesses, policy makers and delivery bodies will now need to reflect, change and adapt to respond to the challenges and opportunities ahead.

“Building on Greg’s energy and enthusiasm, my aim is to continue to expand BDO’s portfolio across the public sector and maintain a bespoke and diverse service offering that supports the sector to achieve its wide-ranging objectives. As a firm, we are well placed to support the growth ambitions of the organisations we serve, whilst maintaining a keen focus on the current and future risks businesses may face.”

BDO advises a wide range of public sector organisations including the NHS, Local Authorities, Arm’s-length bodies (ALBs) and government departments.
