PwC has announced Ben Bird as its new media and entertainment sector leader in its TMT practice.
Bird, who joined PwC 18 months ago as partner in its Operational Restructuring business, has over 16 years experience leading operational improvements to media firms.
These include cost efficiencies and revenue enhancing projects for clients in both private businesses and private equity-backed companies.
Before joining PwC, he was a partner at consultancy firm Vendigital Ltd where he led its Consumer Practice.
In the role, he will also advise on addressing challenges around audience and customer retention and exploring the implications of GenAI as both a threat and an opportunity.
Ben Bird, partner and media and entertainment leader at PwC UK, said: “I am excited to take on the role of Media and Entertainment sector leader at PwC and look forward to building on and expanding our presence in the market.
“With the proliferation of digital platforms, evolving consumer behaviours and the continuous convergence of various media forms driving growth within the sector, I look forward to helping our clients navigate.”
Mary Shelton Rose, TMT leader at PwC UK, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Ben as our Media and Entertainment leader. The experience he brings working with and advising media companies on their operations and strategies will be invaluable to our clients and strengthen our offering in the market at a time when companies are looking at issues like regulation, changing audiences and GenAI and how they respond to them.”
