Azets has announced the appointment of Ruth Ireland to the role of partner in its national risk assurance practice, with a focus on the South of England.

Ireland joins the firm from BDO, where she spent the past 13 years as a partner. She gained experience in providing advisory and assurance services to a broad range of corporate and not-for-profit clients in London and across the South of England.

In her new role, she will focus on advising businesses and their owners on all aspects of governance, risk and internal controls.

This appointment represents a key milestone in the growth strategy of Azets’ risk and technology assurance practice, which has undergone “significant” transformation in response to growing demand in support of clients due to increasingly complex risk management, internal audit and compliance requirements.

Gary Devlin, UK head of risk assurance at Azets, said: “Ruth is a highly experienced business advisor and has an excellent track record in the Risk Assurance space. Her appointment reflects Azets’ strong reputation in the marketplace and our commitment to attracting and retaining the best talent.

“Ruth’s knowledge and experience will be a great asset to our practice.”

Ireland added: “I’m delighted to join such an exciting and dynamic business and to be able to contribute to the growth of the risk assurance team, working with new colleagues to provide the highest quality services to our clients.”
