Business advisory firm FRP has appointed Andy John to its national partnership, as part of its restructuring team.

John is a qualified chartered accountant and insolvency practitioner and has significant experience in formal insolvency appointments and will be based at the firm’s St Albans office.

He joins FRP after more than a decade with independent restructuring practice Leonard Curtis, where he established and led its Hertfordshire office.

In his new role at FRP, he will advise businesses across the UK on restructuring and insolvency matters, including applying his accountancy experience to complex matters.

The team, which is leading the ongoing administration of The Body Shop, recently helped restaurant group Tasty PLC become the first AIM-listed company to successfully approve a Restructuring Plan.

In May, FRP promoted six restructuring advisory staff to partner, and in the last year has acquired Sheffield-based insolvency specialists Wilson Field and GWC in the Isle of Man.

John said: “FRP has built an exceptionally strong reputation in the sector, and a great team servicing some particularly complex cases. It’s also built an experienced advisory arm alongside its restructuring team, providing critical support that help management teams and stakeholders protect and build value during challenging times outside of formal restructuring proceedings.

“Amid what are improving, but still challenging, economic conditions, it’s essential that businesses can access the right help, whatever difficulties they face. I’m excited to work with my colleagues here in the South East, and across FRP’s wider UK network, to deliver this.”

Jeremy French, chief operating officer at FRP, added: “Andy is a highly-experienced restructuring specialist, with a great track record working on cases at a national level and here in the South East. His arrival only bolsters our national practice as we continue to expand and help our clients navigate trends in the evolving UK and global economies.”
